The walk starts at The Clock Tower, in the centre of town, and follows footpaths and roads around the town and out into the nearby countryside. The path is all-weather, hard surfaced (designed to be suitable for mobility scooters and push-chairs)*. The walk is about 2.4 miles which, walked briskly, could be done in under an hour, but there is much to see – even for locals.
Generally, families or small groups would take longer and with all of the places that can be visited or seen, this walk could take a full morning easily.
The walk can be followed by looking for the Red Arrows painted on the ground, by following our photo waymarkers or using the map below.
* Wiltshire Council provided a grant for materials and The Mere Footpath Group and Wiltshire Rights-of-Way team widened Whitebridge and surfaced the path to Mill Lane to complete the route. Help was given by Seeds4Success and the Ramblers.
Please comment when you have done the walk.
