In the June walk, a group of 19 walked a 4 mile circuit from the Bourton White Lion, passing Bourton Mill and Silton Mill and enjoying lovely views, meadows and woodland paths. Thanks to Pam and Roger Laidler for leading, and great to welcome a few new faces, people who have moved to Mere during the months of lockdown.
The Solstice walk up to Castle Hill was a complete washout, so the two who met up decided just to go to the Butt of Sherry!
The Moonlight walk on Thursday night was rather different from usual. There was no pub stop because of the early closing of the Spreadeagle and the Red Lion, so the group of 12 arrived at the top of Whitesheet in daylight, an hour ahead of the moon rising. This turned out to be helpful for being able to see the cows on the way down, and for those who went the alternative route round the Whitesheet reservoir!
Our next walk is on Sunday 11th July, meet at 2 pm at main car park. Details will be in the calendar.
